The "line" mount allows the user to scan attached instruments in the across-track direction of the platform, which corresponds to rotation about the Y axis (assuming the mount to platform attachment didn’t introduce a rotation). The user provides a clock description and the start and stop angles for the scan. The angular velocity is constant with time, starting at the start angle, stopping at the stop angle and instantaneously returning to the start angle.

This demo uses a platform that is fixed in space and performs a symmetric scan (centered about the scan angle 0).
